All flute/recorder players will learn by reading music through lesson technique books and will play a variety of styles and genres. You will learn how to care for your instrument, good finger technique, proper jaw and lip technique, scales, first and second octaves, ear training and sight reading, theory, and much more.
 
All flute/recorder players require a music stand. More than just stands to hold your music, music stands ensure you are playing posture is correct and healthy for your back. All flute/recorders
should be cleaned every time they are played. Otherwise, moisture build-up on the inside of the instrument, this makes the pads sticky, and can lead to mold and mildew!
 
*Each student should arrive to in person or online lesson with ALL music books, a black 3 ring binder including all memorized pieces, small assignment book, pencil and theory book all in a
waterproof bag.
